"This is a story of a group of school boys keen to keep together as a football team after their school days were over. As there was already a Trawden Rangers FC in the village, they called themselves Trawden Celtic. The confidence in their ability to succeed was well founded as the following pages will show. I was secretary of Trawden FC, when in 1974 the two clubs amalgamated and i was fortunate enough to become secretary of Trawden Celtic FC a club well respected on the amateur football scene, especially over the border in Yorkshire, where they were almost invincible. The hours of pleasure given by those dedicated 'lads' to an army of supporters and myself will always remain as wonderful memories. Gentlemen we thank you" H Waddington, taken from the official anniversary handbook
This site includes statistics, photos and memories from the glory years of the infamous Trawden Celtic FC 1967 to 1993. Special thanks to Peter Laycock for the information and photographs taken from his personal archives.
